My two-night stay for our annual couple getaway and college game day was a mixed experience. The rooms were of adequate size but had some outdated furniture, although they were immaculate. The service was fantastic overall, but the delay in bringing a baby crib was a downside for our exhausted baby. The location was convenient, close to downtown without the downtown price, perfect for our planned activities but with some noise issues in showers. The dining experience was not free due to an LSU game weekend, and the facilities were good.
My stay at the hotel was quite mixed. The rooms were very spacious and clean, which was a big positive. However, the noise from the proximity to I10 was bothersome, and the lack of noise isolation on the windows didn't help. One elevator for the whole hall was inconvenient, and the rooms not being equipped with a microwave or refrigerator was a downside.
The hotel met my expectations overall. The rooms were clean and comfortable immediately upon checking in. The service was apologetic and understanding, although not very friendly. The location is fine, right off I-10 and close to a street with lots of restaurants. The dining experience was okay, but the prices were a bit high for what was offered.
The room was not what I expected. It smelled, and it immediately reminded me that I forgot my shower shoes at home. The bathroom was outdated, the bed was hard and uncomfortable with lumpy duvet covers. The noisy A/C unit disturbed my sleep, and there was barely any water pressure in the shower. On the upside, having a refrigerator and coffee maker in the room was convenient for a quick breakfast, and it helped drown out some of the traffic noise.
The hotel was spacious and comfortable with double beds, and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job keeping the room spotless during my stay. However, the location was below average for the area, feeling almost like a ghetto, although the hotel was close to everything. The dining experience was very good with a huge selection, especially for beef dishes.
